Mcleodganj

A beautiful small hill station located on outer Himalayan range. Mcleodganj is suburb of Dharamhala in District Kangra Himachal Pradesh.  It is very well known as Littlle Lahasa because of large population of Tibetan.

It was named after the Lieutenant Governor of Punjab Sir Donald Friell Mcleod and Ganj in Hindi means neighborhood.

Major Distances-

By Train-

Pathankot is nearby railway station to Mcleodganj. Mlleodganj to Pathankot distance is 90KM, and you can take taxi from Pathankot or can book from us.

By Air-

Gagal is nearby Airport to reach Dharamshala by air. Mcleodganj to Gagal is about 27 KM. Taxi is easily available at Airport taxi stand.

Important places in Mcleodganj

Dalai Lama Temple and Tibetan Sites-

The most important and most visited place in Dharamshala also known as TsuglagKhang or Tsuglag Khang. Temple has statues of Shakyamuni, Avalokitesvra and Padmasmbhava (Guru Rinpoche).Car parking is available near Dalai Temple. Some other famous Tibetan sites are there like Namgyal Monastery, Gompa Dip Tse- Chok ling, Gangchen Kyishong, Mani Lakhang Stupa, Nechung Monastery, Norbulingka Institute. 17th Karmapa, Ogyen Trinley Dorje lives near Dharamshala in Gyuto Monastery in Sidhbari.

St. John Church

Church constructed in 1852, in the memory of British Viceroy Lord Elgin. Also known as St. John in the wilderness.

Dal Lake

A small lake about three KM from Mcleodganj is holy lake for local tribe of Gaddi.

Naddi Village and Sun set point

A very beautiful Village at a walk-in distance from Dal lake. It is well known for Sun set and Himalayan view. Famous Triund trek also start from here.

Bhagsu Nag – Area is about 1 KM from Mcleodganj, very well known for Israeli crowd.

Bhagsu Water Fall– Bhagsu fall is 20 meter tall and about 800 meters from Bhagsu Nag. Very well known for wild swimming.
